Lucy Koojo

Senior State Attorney in Uganda

I can now boast of being a trainer both nationally and internationally

My name is Lucy Kabahuma Koojo, a Senior State Attorney with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Government of Uganda. I am currently assigned to one of the Regional offices in the country as a Deputy Regional Officer.

I first interacted with the R&T team members when they came to Uganda on an assessment mission around 2015 – 2016. I attended that meeting as one of the stakeholders in handling Human Trafficking cases in the country. One of the recommendations then was to train duty bearers
in the on the laws and procedures relating to Human trafficking cases. As a result of the several meetings with the powers that be, a training of trainers was organized and I was one of the participants. After we were fully equipped with training skills, I together with other colleagues from the
Horn of Africa started training other stakeholders across the Horn of Africa.

I must appreciate R&T for the skills and expertize I gained through the several trainings I conducted and participated in. I can also boast of being a trainer both nationally and internationally. My interaction with the R&T team and the very intelligent and experienced coaches has made me a better prosecutor, lawyer and trainer. Looking forward to working with my coaches whenever any opportunity arises.
